We had a few hours to spend waiting for our train from Union Station so we walked over to Olvera Street. The native Aztec Dancers were just getting started as we came over the rise. It's pretty neat, like old Mexico; some historical plaques and statues. Old buildings (it's the oldest street in LA) and the site of the original ditch that brought water to the area.
We stopped in to eat at the El Paseo Inn where we were treated to a strolling mariachi band. The salsa was fresh, tasty.
You can get to this area by taking the Metro Red Line at Vermont and Sunset, a short and easy ride.
